So as I was saying in my Biosphere post, there are actually a lot of plants in the desert. This was rather shocking to me when I first arrived in Arizona.
(Now, that being said, I have to admit that I nearly cried when I saw all the green trees and other green plants as my plane was landing back in Ontario last time I returned home. It surprized me how overwelming the feeling was. )
For anyone that knows me, they will probably know that I tend to just jump into things. So when I had the opportunity to go to Arizona I took it, and I didn't really didn't too too much research about what to expect. So when I was told that it was a desert, I assumed that it would be like the deserts in movies. You know, with sand, and that is pretty much it. Yeah, well, it's not really like that at all. There are a significant number of plants. . . . mostly various types of cacti. Everything in this area, plants, animals, insects, seem to be deadly. It's really like people aren't supposed to be living here. Well, it is a nice place to visit, but I'm really glad I don't have to live here.
